Service 03 — Implementation

AI that strengthens your security posture.

Every AI solution we recommend meets rigorous security, privacy, and compliance standards. For government contractors and CMMC-regulated organizations, that means AI adoption that strengthens your compliance posture rather than jeopardizing it.

The new attack surface

AI introduces risks your current controls weren't built for.

AI tools read, summarize and act on your data at machine speed. That's what makes them powerful — and why they need to be implemented with the same rigor as any system that touches sensitive information.

i.

Oversharing at scale

AI assistants respect existing permissions — including the bad ones. Files that were "hidden" by obscurity become one question away.

ii.

Data leaving your control

Staff pasting contracts, CUI or client data into public AI tools can violate obligations — and you may never know it happened.

iii.

Untrusted inputs & outputs

Prompt injection, manipulated documents and confident-but-wrong answers require guardrails, monitoring and human review.

Governance & people Monitoring & audit Model & vendor Identity & access Your data

Data protection

Sensitive data is discovered, classified and labeled. Data loss prevention and encryption policies follow it wherever AI can reach.

Identity & access

Least-privilege permissions, phishing-resistant MFA and conditional access ensure AI only surfaces what each user should see.

Model & vendor

We verify where prompts and outputs are processed and stored, retention periods, and whether your data can be used for model training.

Monitoring & audit

AI activity is logged, retained and monitored, giving you evidence for compliance and early warning of misuse.

Governance & people

Approved-tool policies, unsanctioned-AI controls and training close the gap between technical controls and daily behavior.

Defense in depth

Five layers between AI and a breach.

We don't rely on any single control. Each layer is designed so that if one fails, the next one holds — the same approach we apply to every environment we manage.

  • Deployment inside your approved tenant and boundaries
  • Sensitivity labels and DLP enforced before AI is enabled
  • Unsanctioned AI tools identified and controlled
  • Options evaluated for Microsoft GCC and GCC High environments
Hover or tap each ring to see how that layer protects your organization.
Compliance-first

AI risks, mapped to the controls you already answer to.

For CMMC-regulated organizations, AI isn't a separate compliance universe. We tie each AI risk to the NIST SP 800-171 control families behind CMMC Level 2 — so AI becomes part of your existing compliance story.

Pre-flight before go-live

Nothing launches until it's cleared.

Before any AI capability reaches your users, it passes a documented pre-flight review. If a control isn't in place, the pilot waits — no exceptions, no shortcuts.

  • HardenFix permissions, classify data and close gaps first.
  • ConfigureDeploy AI services to a documented secure baseline.
  • PilotLaunch to a small group with monitoring in place.
  • Monitor & improveReview activity, tune controls, then scale.

Configuration records and control narratives that support your System Security Plan and assessments.

Security FAQ

Security questions we welcome.

Can we use AI if we handle CUI?
Often, yes — with the right platform, configuration and controls. The key questions are where data is processed and stored, who can access it, and how activity is logged. We evaluate options, including those designed for government environments, against your specific obligations.
Will our data be used to train AI models?
That depends entirely on the tool and the contract. Enterprise offerings frequently commit not to train on customer data, while many consumer tools do. We review the terms for every solution we recommend and steer you away from those that don't meet your requirements.
How do you stop employees from using unapproved AI tools?
With a combination of policy, technology and better alternatives. We provide approved tools that meet real needs, apply web and application controls to unsanctioned services, and train staff on why it matters.
Does this help with our CMMC assessment?
Our goal is for AI to strengthen your compliance posture. We map AI-related controls to the NIST SP 800-171 families you already answer to and document configurations to support your System Security Plan and assessment evidence.
